(Update: This article was updated at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, to reflect the candidacy withdrawal of Payton Guthrie in House District 21, which made Rep. Cody Maynard the 34th legislator reelected by default.)

Candidate filings for Oklahoma House races drew nearly 200 hopefuls across the state, with most districts featuring contested primaries.

A total of 196 filings were made for Oklahoma’s 101 House districts, including 126 Republicans, 66 Democrats, six independents and one Libertarian.

Despite the crowded field overall, 27 House districts produced only a single candidate, contributing to the 34 total legislators reelected Friday by default. In the House, Republicans accounted for the bulk of uncontested seats, with 19 candidates running unopposed compared to eight Democrats.

Meanwhile, a total of 19 contested House seats are open after Incumbent Rep.s chose not to run for reelection or have filed for other offices.

Below, you will find an overview of all 75 Oklahoma state representative races that will appear on ballots around the state this year.

The deadline for candidates to contest the eligibility of an opponent is 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 7. To review the Oklahoma State Election Board’s full list of candidates who filed for 2026 legislative elections, click here.

House District 1, LeFlore and McCurtain counties

Four Republicans are running in the primary for HD 1 after Incumbent Rep. Eddy Dempsey (R-Valliant) announced he would not seek reelection:

  • Wes Watson, 68 of Garvin;
  • Austin Loard, 27 of Idabel;
  • George Phipps, 56 of Ringold; and
  • Chris White, 34 of Broken Bow.

The winner will face Idabel Democrat Kurt Reisdorf, 53, during the November election.

House District 3, LeFlore County

When candidate filing closed Friday, 73-year-old Incumbent Rep. Rick West (R-Heavener) had drawn one challenger in the GOP primary: Dalton Staley, 33, of Bokoshe.

Either West or Staley will face Poteau Democrat Steve Glinski, 68, in the general election.

House District 4, Cherokee and Wagoner counties

Incumbent Rep. Bob Ed Culver (R-Tahlequah) will face Democrat Christopher Wier, 24, Tahlequah, in the November General Election. A former OU football player, Culver, 68, is chairman of the House Civil Judiciary Committee.

House District 6, Craig, Mayes, Nowata and Rogers counties

Incumbent Rep. Rusty Cornwell (R-Vinita) will face Republican challengers Eli Richard, 24 of Claremore, and Amber Dawn Ellis, 41 of Chelsea.

No other candidate filed for the seat that Cornwell, 60, has held since first winning election in 2018.

House District 8, Mayes, Rogers and Wagoner counties

Incumbent Rep. Tom Gann (R-Inola) will face Todd Rice, 45, Pryor, in the Republican primary in June.

No other candidate filed for the office Gann, 67, has held since he was first elected in 2016.

House District 9, Rogers and Tulsa counties

Three Republicans and one Democrat filed for the open HD 9 seat being vacated by Incumbent Rep. Mark Lepak (R-Claremore) owing to term limits.

Scotty Stokes, 56 of Collinsville, Crystal Campbell, 49 of Claremore, and Debbie Long, 64 of Claremore, will face off in the June Republican primary.

The winner will face Owasso Democrat Andrea Biscardi, 40, in the November general election.

House District 10, Nowata, Osage and Washington counties

Incumbent Rep. Judd Strom (R-Copan) drew two Republican challengers: Jake Bair, 38 of Skiatook, and Cuen Funderburke, 36 of Dewey.

The winner of the Republican primary will face Bartlesville Democrat Isaac D Mattox, 64 in the November general election. Strom, 47, was first elected in 2018.

House District 11, Tulsa and Washington counties

Incumbent Rep. John Kane (R-Bartlesville) will face former Rep. Wendi Stearman of Collinsville in a June Republican primary

Kane, 66, challenged Stearman, 52, in 2022 and ousted her from office after one term. In 2024, Stearman tried to return the favor against Sen. Julie Daniels (R-Bartlesville), but she lost.

No other candidate filed for HD 11.

The rematch between Kane — the vice chairman of the House Appropriations and Budget Committee — and Stearman — who called herself the body’s most conservative member during her 2022 reelection effort — stands as a bellwether for the broader battle within Oklahoma’s Republican-dominated Legislature.

House District 12, Wagoner County

Incumbent Rep. Mark Chapman (R-Broken Arrow) will face Sandy Hodges, 71, of Coweta in the June primary. Chapman, 62, won his original election in 2024 after a strategic withdrawal by former HD 12 Rep. Kevin McDugle.

House District 14, Cherokee, Muskogee and Wagoner counties

Rep. Chris Sneed (R-Muskogee) will face Roy Timmons of Muskogee in the June GOP primary election. Both men are 48 years old.

Democrat Jeremiah Gantz, 36, of Wagoner filed for the seat as a Democrat.

House District 16, Muskogee, Okmulgee and Tulsa counties

Republican David Nelson, 49 of Morris, and Democrat Rose Rosie Lynch, 58 of Okmulgee, will face off in the Nov. 3 general election for the open eastern Oklahoma House seat after Rep. Scott Fetgatter (R-Okmulgee) announced he would not seek reelection.

House District 18, Coal, Hughes, Okfuskee and Pittsburg counties

Incumbent Rep. David Smith (R-Arpelar) will see two challengers in the June GOP primary: Shelton Foster, 47, Holdenville, and Pamela Gordon, 66, McAlester.

No other candidate filed for the seat, which Smith, 57, has held since ousting an Incumbent Rep. Democrat in 2018. Smith’s official House bio states that he “felt God tell him to run for state office,” but he has also explained how he conducted no campaign that year other than placing a few signs around the area.

House District 19, Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw and Pushmataha counties

Three Republicans are running in the June GOP primary after incumbent Rep. Justin Humphrey (R-Lane) announced his candidacy for lieutenant governor.

House District 23, Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner counties

Joshua Conant, 25, of Glenpool, also filed as a Democrat.

House District 26, Pottawatomie County

A pair of Shawnee residents — Republican Leah Longest, 44, and Democrat Chris Odneal, 47 — will face off in the November general election for HD 26 after incumbent Rep. Dell Kerbs (R-Shawnee) filed to run for Pottawatomie County commissioner instead of another term.

House District 27, Cleveland and Pottawatomie counties

Incumbent Rep. Danny Sterling (R-Tecumseh) will face two challengers in the Republican primary in June: Roberta Lewis, 43 of Tecumseh, and Shoney Qualls, 57 of Noble. Sterling, 70, first won election in 2018.

The winner will face Democrat Memory Taylor, 48 of Moore, in the November election.

House District 28, Pottawatomie and Seminole counties

Incumbent Rep. Danny Williams (R-Seminole) will face off against Democrat challenger Blake Cummings, 66 of Prague, on the November ballot. House District 29, Creek and Tulsa counties

House Speaker Kyle Hilbert (R-Bristow) will be challenged in the June Republican primary by Brian Jackson, 43, of Sand Springs. Hilbert, 32, was first elected in 2016 and is seeking to win his sixth and final term in office. No other candidate for the seat.

House District 30, Creek and Tulsa counties

House District 31, Logan and Oklahoma counties

Incumbent Rep. Collin Duel (R-Guthrie) will be challenged by Karmin Grider, 36, of Guthrie, in the June primary. Duel, 37, defeated Grider to win the HD 31 seat in 2022, and he did not draw a challenger in 2024.

No other candidate for the seat.

House District 83, Oklahoma County

Incumbent Rep. Eric Roberts (R-OKC) will face 26-year-old Democratic candidate Dalton Gau of Oklahoma City during the November General Election. Roberts, 63, has represented HD 83 since he won a 2020 campaign to oust former Democratic Rep. Chelsey Branham, who has filed this year for HD 85.

House District 84, Oklahoma County

Incumbent Rep. Tammy West (R-OKC) will see 24-year-old Democratic challenger Jeffrey Perez of Bethany on the November ballot. West, 66, is seeking her sixth and final term in the Legislature.

House District 85, Oklahoma County

Joe Fallin, the former husband of Gov. Mary Fallin, is the lone Republican running for the seat left open by House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson (D-OKC), who announced her candidacy for governor.

House District 91, Cleveland County

Six Oklahoma City residents have filed for the open HD 91 seat owing to Rep. Chris Kannady (R-OKC) being term-limited.

Five Republicans are seeking their party’s nomination for the seat, which covers the section of OKC that spans into Cleveland County:

  • Roberto Seda, 47;
  • Michael Freeman, 55;
  • Teresa Sterling, 59;
  • Bruce Fleming, 69; and
  • Debbie Shultz, 43.

The winner will face Democrat Chris Fowler, 43, in November.

House District 92, Oklahoma County

HD 92 in southwest and central OKC will be decided in this year’s primary election, although the same two candidates will appear twice on voters’ June 16 primary ballots.

That’s because, after former Rep. Forrest Bennett (D-OKC) resigned to become president of the Oklahoma State AFL-CIO, Gov. Kevin Stitt placed the special election to fill the remainder of Bennett’s term — which runs through November — on the broader 2026 election schedule.

Democrats will retain the seat one way or another, with Sam Wargin Grimaldo, 38, and Vicki Ruth Werneke, 62, becoming the only candidates to file for the seat. Wargin Grimaldo has previously run unsuccessfully for an OKC City Council seat and State Senate District 46.

House District 95, Cleveland, Oklahoma counties

Two Republican challengers, Brent Rinehart, 61 of Oklahoma City, and Alexander Yoder, 30 of Midwest City, are attempting to oust 72-year-old Incumbent Rep. Max Wolfley (R-OKC) in the June primary.

Wolfley has faced both men before, although he and Rinehart both lost their HD 95 campaigns to former Rep. Charlie Joyner in 2014. Wolfley ultimately succeeded in 2020 when he ousted a Democrat from HD 95, and he easily fended off a challenge from Yoder in 2024. Rinehart is a former Oklahoma County commissioner who received a deferred sentence after pleading guilty to a campaign violation misdemeanor in 2009.

“Declaring victory over my enemies, I refuse to be bitter,” Rinehart said at the time.

The winner of the GOP primary will face Midwest City Democrat Tegan Malone, 49, and independent Ryan Gardner, 29 of Oklahoma City. Malone has challenged Wolfley before, garnering 46 percent support to Wolfely’s 54 percent support in both 2022 and 2024.

House District 96, Oklahoma County

A total of four candidates are vying to oust the 53-year-old incumbent Rep. Preston Stinson (R-Edmond). Challenging Stinson in the primary election is John Bachman, 67, of Jones.

Three Democrats, Austin Reams, 55 of Edmond, Phillip Massad, 72 of Jones, and Ashtyn Smith, 40 of Edmond, will also face off during the June primary.

House District 97, Oklahoma County

Incumbent Rep. Aletia Timmons (D-OKC) is being challenged by fellow Democrat Chimere Grant, 43, of Oklahoma City in the June primary. Timmons, 65, won the seat in a 2025 special election.

OKC Republican Austin Jones, 37, will face either Timmons or Grant during the Nov. 3 general election.

House District 98, Tulsa and Wagoner counties

Incumbent Rep. Gabe Woolley (R-Broken Arrow) is being challenged by fellow Republican Dean Davis. Woolley, 31, ousted Davis, 53, in the 2024 primary.

Broken Arrow Democrat Cathy Smythe, 71, will face the winner on the November ballot — as she did unsuccessfully in 2024.

House District 99, Oklahoma County

A total of six candidates from Oklahoma City are vying for the seat left open after former Rep. Ajay Pittman was forced to resign as part of her plea agreement for a forgery charge. The northeast OKC-area seat drew five Democrats:

  • Herschel L. Brown, 62;
  • Derrick Sier, 44;
  • Alan Washington, 64;
  • Carlos M. Robinson, 43; and
  • Steve Davis, 55.

With the five-candidate field making a Democratic runoff likely, the eventual winner will face off in the general election against Republican Melvin Latham, 70.

House District 100, Oklahoma County

Incumbent Rep. Marilyn Stark (R-Bethany) will see Democrat challenger Chaunté Gilmore, 44 of Oklahoma City, on the November ballot. Gilmore, 44, has challenged Stark, 69, twice before. In 2022, Stark prevailed by 1,008 votes, but in 2024, that margin dwindled to 288.
